Project Details

450 MW lithium battery energy storage offering up to 4 hour's power for around 230,000 households.

Battery storage containers to be installed at the operating Jeeralang gas-fired power station

Connection to the existing Jeeralang 220kV terminal connection in Victoria's LaTrobe Valley
Benefits

Stakeholders
The project will help secure Victoria's energy supply, enabling more renewable energy into the electricity network, powering industry and communities

Community
When demand for power rises, the batteries can discharge their stored power, helping to lights on and energy prices low for homes and businesses.

Environment
Lithium Ion battery technology has no emmissions and emits minimal sound. The project will save around123,000 tonnes of Co2e each year.
